Wilcox (of the whole edition of 225). Burgundy niger goatskin, each cover
with applied cloisonné-style gilt design inlaid with panels in emerald
and hazel calf, signed "Wilcox 1987" on rear cover, title gilt
on spine, silk doublures, top edge gilt, others uncut, in a pale lemon buckram-covered
clamshell box embossed front and rear with the cloisonné block design
and lined with the same silk as the doublures. Collates 56 pp.: [8], 1,
[1], 3, [1], 4, [1], 24, [1], 2, [2] 1, [7]. Each of twelve bindings is
illustrated on facing pages with, on the recto, a tipped-in Cibachrome plate,
from photographs by Bill Records, above remarks on the binding and the book,
and on the facing verso, a reproduced specimen page from the book. Designed
by W. Thomas Taylor, printed letterpress by David Holman on folio sheets
of mould-made Guarro paper, and specially bound by Michael Wilcox. Loose
publisher's prospectus and other ephemera included. Small spot on buckram
of box, otherwise fine.
