red and black. Paper covers over boards decorated with McPharlin illustration
and borders in red and black, top edges stained red, brown cardboard slipcase
with cover label matching title page. Collates [2 ll.], 141 + 1 pp., [1
l.]. "Printed on specially-manufactured Peter Pauper Press Paper."
Spine sunned, bumped on bottom, slight staining on front cover, slight edgewear.
Slipcase chipped on open edges, otherwise sound. Owner's name in ink, dated
1959, on front free endpaper, otherwise fine internally. Peter Beilenson's
Peter Pauper Press, established in his basement in Mount Vernon in 1928,
specialized in beautifully bound and illustrated small volumes which were
sold for reasonable prices.
