copies. Publisher's original royal blue cloth covers, top edges stained
grey, others uncut, gilt stamping to spine, gilt stamped vignettes on spine
and front cover. Collates 304 pp: [4], xxxiv, 1-216, [2], with 24 ff. plates.
Covers and spine slightly bumped and rubbed at extremities, spine slightly
faded, slight separation at quire C, slight browning of uncut edges, overall
a very good copy, fine internally, the illustrations very strong and clear.
Printed on fine laid paper. Illustrated by Jean de Bosschère with
16 tissue-guarded color plates and eight black-and-white plates, printed
rectos only, and chapter headpieces and tailpieces.
