Publisher's quarter cream cloth with light olive green cloth covers, printed paper labels on spine and upper cover, top edges trimmed, others uncut. Collates 260 pp.: [7], ii-xi, [1], 1-235, 1 (Chiswick Press device), [6]. Frontispiece, with portrait of Landor, and title page designed by Alfred A. Longden. From the series, The Chiswick Library of Notable Authors. Covers slightly bumped and rubbed at extremities, foxing and staining to covers and labels (notably spine), light offset staining on endpapers, interior clean, bright and tight with two extra paper labels tabbed in at rear, overall a very good copy apart from the cover staining, internally fine. Beautifully printed on fine laid paper watermarked Chiswick Press with the lion, dolphin and anchor device, fine decorative initial letters, marginal side-notes printed in red.
