Lambertville Landscape
Watercolor and graphite on heavy white wove paper, 15 x 19½ in. (38 x 49.5 cm).

Bears estate stamp, lower right. Signed, dated and inscribed “Lambertville Landscape / Max Kuehne - 1927” on the reverse. Old mounting pinholes in each corner, otherwise fine condition. Archivally framed in a flat-faced mahogany frame, 25-1/2 x 29-7/8 x 1-3/4 in. overall.

This is one of a number of larger-format watercolor views of Lambertville and New Hope done by Kuehne at his artistic maturity, evident in his superb oil studies of views in New England fishing port villages of the same time.
